About this project

Poland Business Run Foundation creates in Cracow a modern Rehabilitation Center for people with movement disabilities. We already  have the facility, where right now finishing works commence, and a team of specialists. We lack only professional rehabilitation equipment. Help us purchase it!

 

 

 

In 2017 we donated more than a 1 million zloty to help 212 disabled, funding their equipment, prosthesis, rehabilitation and psychological counseling. We comprehensively assist our charges in their comeback to normal functioning.

 

Every year the number of people asking for our help grows. In order to properly support them, we need a place where specialists could provide all the necessary assistance.

That is why we decided to establish Poland Business Run Rehabilitation Center. In 2017 Buma Group provided us with 2 premises which allowed us to fulfill our dream about the Center.

 

Now we need your support in order to equip the facility and open it for people with disabilities.

 

 

The main goal of the institution is helping the amputees to take their first steps using prosthetic devices. The Rehabilitation Center  will not only gather specialists experienced at working with amputees but also the building itself will be entirely adapted to the needs of persons with movement disabilities.

 

Specialist diagnostic equipment and apparatus used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy, which we plan to purchase, is indispensable to bring an individually adjusted help.

 

Besides comprehensive rehabilitation, charges can consult with orthopedist, diabetologist, nutritionist, psychologist, psychotraumatologist.

 

What are we doing now?

 

In December 2017 we picked up the keys from Fundations partner - Buma Group giving us access to two raw state facilities, in January we obtained architectural plans and at a moment we conduct finishing works. However, the furnishing and acquisition of rehabilitation equipment are still ahead of us.

 

In this last stage we need your support.

 

 

That is how looks the space, which will be transformed into unique Rehabilitation Center.

 

And finally we would like to arrange it like this:

 

 

The equipment allowing us to prepare Rehabilitation Center for its mission, which is comprehensive help to disabled persons, costs over 300 000 PLN. The amount of 57 000 PLN, which we would like to collect through crowd funding, will be used to buy the apparatus necessary to commence working with patients.

 

If we manage to raise more, we plan to acquire additional machinery in order to create professional space facilitating the rehabilitation process. 

 

List of basic rehabilitation equipment

	Medical couches It is an indispensable element of every medical cabinet, which enables conducting examinations and some of the fundamental procedures. We need 3 of them in the cabinets in Rehabilitation Center.
	Rehabilitation tables This the very basic rehabilitation tool allows to alter the rake angle of the mattress and head support system. One of these tables will stand in a manual therapy cabinet and the second one in the procedure cabinet.
	Parallel bars Walking with prosthesis differs from regular locomotion. For amputees it is crucial to learn how to make first steps, put the right weight on the prosthesis and maintain stable body posture. Parallel bars facilitate and accelerate the learning process.
	Rehabilitation stairs As fully functional beings we do not realize how many steps we climb every day. Meanwhile it is the most common obstacle in daily routine of disabled persons. Thanks to rehabilitation stairs we learn the patient how to defeat those hindrances safely and efficiently.
	Physiotherapy device Procedures such as electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, laser therapy and magnet therapy can be conducted using this advanced tool. The device has a vast range of applications in rehabilitation, orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, dermatology, gynecology and wellness.
	Elliptical ergometer The device uses magnetic resistance to support rehabilitation and training. It also informs about the current parameters of  training. During a training session both upper and lower body are engaged in the exercise. Ergometer will be an element of rehabilitation room.

 

Foundation Poland Business Run is main organizer of the biggest charity run in Poland- Poland Business Run. In 2017, in the race took part 20 135 participants in 8 locations. Thanks to them we managed to collect 1,6 million zlotys and help 212 disabled persons, funding their equipment, prosthesis, rehabilitation and psychological counseling.

Those stories ensure us that or help is really important and needed. Nonetheless, the Poland Business Run is not everything we do. We prepare also projects to activate disabled persons.

• Beneficiary Days - meeting for disabled people, during which they can share thoughts and experiences.
• Project Senior - free medical consultations for disabled persons over 50
• Adaptiv Snow Camp - first in Poland snowboard camp for people with movement disability
• Support Coaches - group of disabled persons prepared to help other disabled return to normal functioning

 

We deal also with CSR through projects such as:

Rehabilitation is a new field we would like to develop, that is why we decided to set up Poland Business Run Rehabilitation Center. Thanks to your support we can realize that dream.

15. Medal - A unique backer medal will get into your hands. It’s a permanent prove of your involvement in the creation of Rehabilitation Center.

16. 2019 Calendar - Even though year 2018 is far from ending, you can right now order a special 2019 calendar with photos from foundation projects.

17. Acknowledgement in the movie - You name/ nickname will appear in the final credits of the movie about the creation of Rehabilitation Center.

18. Training session - You will have a possibility to participate in sports activities organized at a gym of Rehabilitation Center.
