My research are focused on taxonomy of Scirtidae (Coleoptera: Scirtoidea).

My current projects include:

- revision of Afrotropical Scirtidae, with special emphasis on South African fauna;

- studies of Austral Scirtidae; especially faunas of New Caledonia (with Hiroyuki Yoshitomi), New Zealand (with Agata Kiałka), and Chile (with Jaime Solervicens);

- revision of selected groups of Neotropical and Oriental Scirtidae;

- preparing world catalogue of Scirtidae (with Bernhard Klausnitzer and Hiroyuki Yoshitomi).
